Gatekeeper Systems Announces Support of LPRC IMPACT Conference
Sponsorship Pledged to Help Expand Knowledge-Sharing in Crime and Inventory Loss Prevention
Irvine, CA, (September 21, 2017)—Gatekeeper Systems, Inc., the global leader in cart retention, management and push-out prevention, announced their sponsorship of the annual IMPACT conference. This conference was developed by The Loss Prevention Research Council (LPRC), an organization that conducts real-world loss prevention research projects for retailers and solution partners. IMPACT is designed to help participants better understand how they can use research approaches to help reduce crime and loss, and increase sales.
The conference is expected to draw 300 leading executives from at least 40 major retailers, as well as multiple technology companies. It consists of presentations, panel discussions and Learning Labs, with the labs utilizing a unique format focusing heavily on interactivity, variety and brevity. Attendees can choose any seven labs to attend, creating a customized learning experience for each individual.
“We’re very excited to be providing our support to IMPACT this year,” said Robert Harling,
SVP of Business Development from Gatekeeper Systems. “We believe in empowering everyone in retail with the tools to take control of their own inventory shrink and physical safety issues, and this conference is a wonderful step to do just that. It’s through this type of highly-effective collaboration and teamwork that we can initiate a serious reduction in crime rates and drive up bottom-line performance for retailers.”
Dr. Read Hayes, University of Florida Research Scientist and Director of the LPRC, provided additional insight into IMPACT activities this year, as he explained, “We’re so excited to host our annual IMPACT Conference again this year. We have over 30 LP research projects to discuss and present, 7 Learning Lab breakout sessions including an interactive application, and we are thrilled to have Dr. Brian Smith present his research on the CRAVED model.”
The theme of this year’s IMPACT is Precision LP. It will focus on analyzing the most effective ways to use new and existing technology in a unique retail environment to yield the greatest result. Dr. Hayes and his team are also pleased to reveal the LPRC Innovation Lab 4.0, with new and updated technologies during the conference. “We can’t wait to see the outcome of IMPACT 2017; it will be the best conference we’ve held to date,” he said.
The LPRC IMPACT Conference will be held from October 2-4, 2017 at the University of Florida. For more information and media inquiries, please contact:
