In order to ensure that the purchek push out prevention system is operating at peak performance, we recommend that you implement the following standard practices.
Test the System Each Day
- Take a cart inside the store, wait several minutes, and attempt to exit the store without passing through an attended checkout. (Cart should lock.)
- Take a cart inside the store and wait several minutes, pass through an attended checkout, and attempt to exit the store. (Cart should exit freely.)
Perform Periodic Visual Inspections of Store Entrance/Exit Points
We recommend periodically surveying the floor surface area at each entrance/exit point to identify any damage or the presence of any potentially damaging activity or objects. Make sure to note any degradation that may require maintenance.
Rotate Your Cart Inventory
Whenever possible, make sure to rotate your inventory of shopping carts. This will ensure that your Gatekeeper wheels will undergo consistent usage and reduce the need for servicing. If your store utilizes a cart retrieval service, closely monitor your retrieval numbers and ensure that only carts with Gatekeeper wheels are being delivered to your store and that those carts belong to your store.
Lock Carts Left Outside at Closing Time
At the close of your business day, we recommend that carts left outside be secured with a locked chain. In the event that a chain-locking procedure cannot be implemented, carts can be nested and locked using a CartKey. Do not forget to unlock carts with a CartKey before opening the next day. |
